Heaps Peak
Each year more
than 100,000
forest visitors benefit
from ROWIA's
activities and
you can be a part
of the team.

You are invited to visit the unique mountain oasis of natural beauty at Heaps Peak Arboretum.  The Arboretum is open dawn to dusk 365 days a year. During summer months, the information booth is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

The Arboretum is in the San Bernardino National Forest at an elevation of approximately 6000 feet.  It features a fascinating animal-footprint trail, especially for kids, and a scenic nature trail, nearly 1 mile long.  It is free to the public, but the U.S. Forest Service requires that an Adventure Pass be displayed on all vehicles using the Aboretum parking lot. A Daily pass is $5 and an annual pass is $30. They can be purchased at the Arboretum booth during business hours or at a number of local outlets and at retail sporting goods stores.

Become a member today! Heaps Peak's unique arboretum and botanical gardens greet visitors with a diversity of native plants, and also a few “introductions.”
Want to learn about wildflowers and wildlife that occur in the San Bernardino Mountains? Come to our booth on weekends and visit with our friendly “booth sitters” and get answers to all your questions. We provide an ideal setting for young children to enjoy the forest and experience nature with their parents. Picnic tables & trash receptacles are available
